Committees

The Alaska Chamber maintains the following committees made up of staff and members designed to help achieve the Alaska Chamber’s mission.

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee acts on behalf of the Board as outlined in the bylaws and is responsible for the annual evaluation of the President/CEO. This committee makes recommendations to the Alaska Chamber Board and staff in the areas of operations, policy, strategic planning, membership, communication, events, financials, partnerships and sponsorships.

Events Committee
The Events Committee assists in planning and implementation of Alaska Chamber events including the Legislative Fly-In, Community Outreach Trips, Pacific Northwest Trips, Policy Forum, Conference and the Awards Gala.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee provides oversight on all financial matters and advises the Board on the overall direction and control of the finances of the organization.

Legislative Affairs Committee
The Legislative Affairs Committee provides counsel and subject matter expertise about legislative issues to Alaska Chamber staff and the Board. The committee assists with the annual Legislative Policy Forum by vetting legislative positions for consideration of all Alaska Chamber members. The committee also participates in informing public policy makers about issues impacting business in Alaska.

Local Chamber Outreach Committee
The Local Chamber Outreach Committee works to improve communication between and among local chambers and the statewide Alaska Chamber. The committee also assists local chambers in dealing with legislative issues.

Membership Committee
The Membership Committee assists in the development of a membership strategy that continually increases new members and retains existing members. The committee also looks for opportunities to provide added value for members.
